Passion is a vital factor in everyone's life. Passion means different things to different people: when for some it's everything- like their life runs on passion...and for others it's just another word in a Dictionary. For me if i don't have intense passion (interest) towards something i just won't do; even if i did, the outcome will reveal the truth. Have you ever done something without interest? If you have, then you must be familiar with this "ahh!! come on!! let's just get this thing over with huh? "..followed by (a self- justification) "hey it's not that i don't like doing this but ..you know, this is of least priority in my list- i just don't want to waste my energy on this, that's all". Well i have pulled this off rather successfully sometimes. This is total lack of passion towards the task. When you have interest on something, you will get it done ( i have tried it too), but 'PASSION' is totally a different energy .If you have a passion towards a particular field or area, your work will be unquestionable and excellent. To top it all off, procrastination will just go away from you. Passion has this power. When I am passionate, I finish things fast with perfection, without tiredness and with more enthusiasm.
But one question was still bothering me. How to create Passion towards everything I do or rather everything i choose to do? Well, before trying to think of an answer, a subsequent question arose from the above: When I CHOOSE to perform some task, shouldn't I have PASSION towards that task already? considering the irony that I chose the task. Why would I then choose something if i don't feel passionate about ?
One more...
Am I doing it just to please people around me or just to get attention? Well if you think that I am in the process of Self- realization, no it is not.
So instead of figuring out answers,I am just going to choose my tasks from now based on my passion. So if I don't have passion towards something, I will not 'CHOOSE' to do it.

Very nice thought! and well articulated...
ReplyDeleteI think, we dont have an option to choose most of the things we do...it just falls in our life and we need to pick it up with out looking at it...but...when we do it, we either like it or dont...so, there we have an option! and once we start liking it...passion will follow:) what say?
